About Rocket Start

Rocket Start is an iOS and Android application that enables ready mixed producers to invest in their drivers, as well as improve their performance through gamification and reward system. Mixer truck drivers can use the Rocket Start app to track their field performance against peers, compete for top positions on a leaderboard, and earn rewards for a job well done.

The Challenge

Although truck drivers are one of the most critical resources in ready-mix companies, they're often overlooked. Rocket Start wanted to create a mobile app that can help ready-mix companies to achieve the following goals:

  • Motivate their drivers toward stronger performance
  • Reduce employee turnaround
  • Retain experienced ready mixed drivers & reduce training costs
  • Build loyalty and morale among the workforce

The client wanted a reliable, experienced, and local app development company to handle the project. He approached our team with the product idea and looked to us to turn his vision into a successful digital reality.

The Solution

Our team created an intuitive MVP app that had many unique and interactive gamification features. After the successful launch of the MVP, we started with the Phase 1 of development.

Phase 1 development went on for one month and we’re currently into the Phase 2 development of the app.

Our Strategy

At Imaginovation, we always focus on the success of our clients. Our team had several initial meetings and discovery calls with the client to create a detailed project plan.

(Phase 1)

Extensive Planning

The first step in our process was to create a detailed roadmap for the new application.

  • It involved taking an extremely deep dive into the client’s goals, challenges, and opportunities.
  • We wanted to get the full picture and ensure we had every last detail to form the foundation of the project.
(Phase 2)

Form the Concept

  • After the in-depth discovery, we recommended developing an MVP (Minimum Viable Product).
  • The goal of MVP was to help our client understand the proof of concept.
  • When clients approach us with new ideas, we advise them to invest in MVP first, rather than creating a full-featured app in the first go.
(Phase 3)

Building Wireframes

  • We created wireframes and designs for the MVP and then started with the development process.
  • These wireframes brought the user journey and branded elements into the picture
  • and laid the groundwork for what the experience would be on the new app
(Phase 4)

Development

  • After the successful launch of the MVP, we started with Phase 1 development.
  • In Phase 1, we added new screens, designs, features, and functionalities to the app.
  • We developed an admin panel for the ready-mix companies, where they can create reward programs, allot badges, points, and awards.
(Phase 5)

Testing and Optimization

  • The next phase involved testing, testing some more, and optimizing the app to make it as streamlined as possible.
  • Once the client was thrilled with the UI, we started taking steps to roll out the app.
  • We developed and released the app with the necessary features in three months from our first call with the client.

The Results

The Rocket Start mobile application successfully introduced a gamified approach to driver performance management, leading to increased motivation and reduced employee turnover. The intuitive admin panel empowered companies to manage reward programs effectively, enhancing driver retention and morale within the ready-mix industry.
