About Contractor Score

Contractor Score is a web platform created to help contractors and engineers obtain a general rating or score of their overall credibility. The goal is for a contractor or engineer to earn a good score and compare themselves to the rest of the market. This, in turn, helps them understand their strengths, weaknesses, and learn how to improve their quality of service.

The Challenge

The old Contractor Score platform was becoming outdated and called for a complete revamp. This involved everything from the website to the scoring system itself.

The site owner needed a more automated system to grow the business, and have less involvement in the overall process. The old system was relying heavily on emailing users in the system manually to communicate, as well as manually generating PDF documents to send their scores.

Our Strategy

Before we began our long app development process, we knew our job was going to involve starting from scratch and implementing an entirely new system. Safe to say, we had a long road ahead of us. The good news was we knew exactly what needed to be done. Here’s what we did.

  • From there, we drafted up the best user experience for automating the entire scoring process and flow.
  • This led to a smooth and effortless transition for development and building the actual application.

Create Wireframes

  • With a rock-solid direction for the user experience, we created and presented wireframes
  • It provides a clear view of what the app would look like, the UX, and how the branding would integrate with the UI.

Design and Development

Once the wireframes were approved, we began the process of bringing the app to life.

  • Our designers created screens based on the wireframes and user experience in mind.
  • Our team integrated essential features that allowed the client's business to interact with consumers and execute transactions.

Test and Fine-Tune

Thanks to our exhaustive process of mapping the user journey, the development phase was very smooth.

The Solution

We provided a performant and scalable system that included automated processes across all of the user types in the system. Communication is driven by data being passed in between the various steps of the process and approval/denial steps to ensure cross-checking and validation of various documents.

Automatic PDF generation allowed for the site owner to have the PDF documents automatically sent to the users for their score - and not have to email each user individually with their custom certificate.
