What is the MagicTask?

MagicTask is the flagship product created by Imaginovation for our own internal operations - and eventually for other organizations. It is a robust enterprise task management platform that aims to boost productivity, efficiency, and work satisfaction with a simplified user experience.

The Challenge

The challenge was to create a simplified project management tool that removes clutter and helps teams efficiently manage their tasks.

We wanted to create a solution that was a user-friendly task management tool to keep track of all the projects and tasks, without losing any details across organizations.

Our Strategy

Our goal here was fairly straightforward: keep the UI as simplistic as possible, without adding more features than needed. Other task management tools we had tried simply had too much going on – we just needed an organizational tool to manage projects and assignments.

Phase 1

Planning

  • We needed to take a deep dive into our own internal workflows to get a feel for what we really needed out of MagicTask.
  • Our team created a long list of features they wish they had, as well as outlined the inner workings of the “ultimate” PM tool.
  • Before we got into the design & development portions, we wanted to have a crystal clear vision of the UX – and one that everyone agreed on.

Phase 2

Wireframes

  • With a rock-solid plan in place, our team created wireframes to bring the tool to life.
  • The wireframes we created were designed to reflect Imaginovation’s collective vision, the preferred screen layouts, and convey the concise UI in a way that was not complex.

Phase 3

Design + Development

  • MagicTask was initially started as a simple text editor. Users typed in their to-do lists and checked off the items as they went along.
  • We knew that our program needed more features so we made updates to the designs as needed.
  • But the goal was always to keep the UI as simple as possible to ensure it was not getting overly complicated.
  • Whenever a new suggestion was made, we went back to the drawing board to refine the wireframes and screens.

Testing

  • We recently launched the Beta version of the tool for our internal teams and existing clients.
  • The sales team is currently using the new system to sell their services as something unique and customer-centric.
  • We are re-evaluating our system monthly to see where we can optimize and how to improve the tool before it launches.

The Solution

MagicTask offers simplicity in project management and declutters the mind while staying hyper-focused. The Imaginovation team uses this platform to manage their weekly sprints and track the work progress for different projects.

This tool has helped to increase our efficiency and productivity across the organization and has helped in successful deliveries of projects.

The Results

Today MagicTask is used by several users for their task management needs. Currently, It's in the beta stage and is used by 1000+ users.
