About Fit2Win
Fit2Win is a family-owned athletic apparel company with a strong reputation for quality and customer service. As the company aimed to expand its reach nationally, it identified the need for a robust e-commerce platform that could provide customers with greater flexibility and control over their orders while automating tedious manual processes. Fit2Win’s mission was to create an intuitive online experience that could cater to a wide range of users, including athletic directors, coaches, parents, and everyday buyers.
The Challenge
Fit2Win’s primary challenge was creating a platform that addressed several critical needs. They required a solution that could streamline and automate their manual order processing to reduce inefficiencies and errors. The platform also needed to empower customers with a seamless customization experience for team apparel, allowing them to design, organize, and order products easily. Furthermore, the solution had to be scalable, supporting the company’s ambitious growth plans and enabling it to become a leader in the athletic and casual sportswear market.
Our Strategy
We crafted a phased approach to transform Fit2Win’s vision into reality. By combining user-centric design, technical innovation, and seamless collaboration, we developed a scalable e-commerce platform tailored to their unique needs. Here's how we did it:
Phase 1
Discovery
One of our trusted design and marketing partners Orange Element approached us with the project and had already completed a significant portion of the user flows and UX. We collaborated closely to finalize the flows, aligning them with technical requirements and Fit2Win’s business goals. Together, we mapped detailed user personas—including coaches, parents, athletes, and corporate buyers—and created user journeys to ensure the platform met the needs of all stakeholders.
Phase 2
Planning
With the finalized user flows, we worked with Orange Element to ensure the design and technical roadmap aligned. Shopify was selected as the core platform for its scalability, and a headless commerce architecture was implemented to enable omnichannel integration. We also developed a phased roadmap to balance delivering a minimum viable product (MVP) while ensuring long-term scalability and flexibility.
Phase 3
Design
Orange Element took the lead in creating high-fidelity design mockups based on the finalized flows. Our role was to provide guidance and consultation on the UX to ensure the designs were technically feasible and optimized for development. The mockups focused on core workflows, such as product browsing, customization, and checkout, ensuring a seamless and intuitive experience for all user types.
Phase 4
Development
Once the designs were completed, we hit the ground running with development. A full-stack solution was built, using Shopify as the backbone of the platform and KitBuilder for the apparel customization. A staging environment was established early in the development process to gather iterative feedback and make adjustments as needed.
Phase 5
Testing & Security
Comprehensive testing was conducted throughout the development cycle. This included unit, integration, stress, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure a seamless user experience across devices and platforms. Additionally, we implemented SEO best practices and ensured accessibility compliance for a broader audience reach.
Phase 6
Launch & Maintenance
The platform was launched with a soft rollout to gather user feedback and refine final details. Post-launch, ongoing maintenance and support were set up to ensure the platform’s long-term stability and adaptability to Fit2Win’s growth needs.
