About Strane
Strane is a part of Holistic Industries, a "Greenhouse of Brands" – which also includes well-known names in cannabis, such as Liberty, Garcia Hand Picked, and more! Strane matches cannabis products to the exact needs and tastes of each patient and adult-use enthusiast – from flowers and cartridges to PAX pods and concentrates.
The Challenge
Strane came to us in need of a new website. They had designs ready, but they needed a very technical and trustworthy team to get the website built and fine-tuned for the ideal functionality. They turned to the Imaginovation team for custom website development and implementation.
The most important task the website needed to accomplish was providing users with information about Strane, then directing them to the products they needed with ease.
Our Strategy
This project was a little different than many of our other ones. Strane had a firm idea of what they wanted – and had taken a number of steps to get the ball rolling. Our goal was to find the perfect synergy between the branding and design elements they provided and translate it into a smooth UX. Here’s how we did it:
Phase 1
Discovery & Planning
We started by analyzing the designs provided by the client to get a feel for the brand, look, and feel of the new website.
- The client did a fantastic job creating an appealing design.
- However, there were a lot of animations – and we needed to make sure the graphic elements did not overload the website and slow down its speed.
Phase 2
Development
With designs in place and a clear direction for the site’s functionality, we had two dedicated Imaginovation developers get right to work with the development phase.
- For starters, we implemented lazy loading to improve the website loading speed.
- We suggested the client get Netlify CMS, so they had rich-text editing capabilities, real-time preview, and drag & drop media uploading.
- Our team developed a dashboard in the backend so content could be dynamically edited as needed
- Then integrated Google maps to help users locate the nearest store.
Phase 3
Testing & Launch
As with any development project, we needed to take every single precaution to ensure there would be no hiccups or inconsistencies in the user experience.
- This involved testing every last touchpoint and ironing out all the kinks.
- Fortunately, the testing phase of the project ended up being very short
- We were ready to launch the site in just a couple of weeks.

The Solution
The client walked away with a fully functional and responsive website built and customized according to their exact needs. Users can now use the Strane website to learn more about the company and locate the cannabis products sold at different locations.
